Introducing: Naïma Sagna, Young Friends Coordinator

Naïma currently works as a coordinator for the Friends of musée de Grenoble, considered to be the first museum of modern art in France, outside of Paris. Musée de Grenoble curates modern and contemporary artists such as Bonnard, Picasso, Cy Twombly …

She coordinates the team and the communication with members, the Musée de Grenoble, contractors, sponsors and lecturers. She collaborates with institutions to promote cultural events at the museum (including art history conferences), and cultural travels to museums in other countries. On a daily basis, Naïma is involved in the organisation of administrative and volunteering activities, the growth of institutional partnerships, and the management of projects and communication.

In January 2023, due to the inter-generationnal challenge for Friends of Museums associations, Naïma has become increasingly aware of the necessity to develop a Young Friends membership base in Grenoble. Eight months ago, she created a youth section and comittee to help reform the membership program to better connect with young people aged 16 to 36. At this date, Youth Friends section of musée de Grenoble has 40 members including 8 active members on the comittee, with 10 activities planned for the 2023/24 season.

September marks the time for two presentations of the 2023/24 season

- Thursday 14/09, auditorium, musée de Grenoble (150 participants): a public event at which Hervé Storny, President of the Friends of the Musée de Grenoble, presented the 60 events scheduled for the season: art history lectures, private tours, drawing workshops, cultural stays.

- Friday 22/09, Patio, musée de Grenoble (40 participants): the very first private evening reserved for members and partners of the Young Friends of the Grenoble Museum section, to talk about the ten activities programmed exclusively for members aged 16 to 36. Following the speeches, an aperitif and a doubled guided tour of the collection rooms were offered to rediscover L’enlèvement de Proserpine by Joseph-Marie Vien (1757) and Peinture, 222 x 628 cm by Pierre Soulages (1985).

Naïma joins the WFFM executive team to build up a team of international Young Friends delegates and thus strengthen the existing network in preparation for the Congress to be held in the spring of 2024 in Luxembourg.
